The third step of the one handed backhand progresions
is to start in your ready position, pivot it, turn your shoulders, and then get your rocket back.
So that you end up in the body position we started in, in the previous video.
So here I am in ready position
and I pivot it with my outside foot, transfer the weight to that foot,
turn my shoulders, then take my rocket all the way back so its pointing to the back fence, got my body sideways now,
From here, same position I started in in step two of the one handed backhand progresions.
From this position, I swing forward, make contact with the tennis ball, I am shodowing right now,
but I swing forward, follow trough, use the same mechanics we have worked on in previous videos.
So lets watch that one more time,
Starting in the ready position, pivot it, shoulder turn, rocket comes back,
no loop right now, just coming straight back
Then I swing, hit the ball and follow through.
Now I am gonna hit some tennis balls starting in the ready position.
I pivot it with my outside foot, I turn my shoulders,
again thats how the rocket starts to come back, the shoulder turn brings the rocket back.
And when I take the rocket back, its just go straight back, I am not working any loop in to the motion yet.
I just wanna get it straight back in to the rocket back position,
That we worked in in the previous video.
So right now my body is sideways, I will be freezing, my body is sideways
and the rocket is pointed at the back fence and thats the same I was starting in in the previous video.
And then swinging the hit, my memachanits are excatly the same,we already worked on them.
I swing from the shoulder, hit the tennis ball, follow through, point the rocket up in the air,
i transfer my weight to my front foot, my back heel comes up
and I keep my other arm back and that holds my shoulders sideways
From the back perspective
This should give you pretty clear view of how when I pivot and turn my shoulders,
I am just taking the rocket straight back.
Again I don’t want any loop right now, I just wanna transition
from the ready position by pivoting, turning my shoulders and taking my rocket back.
That will transition me to the rocket back position.
Again, one more time, that was the position I was starting in in the previous video.
