The fifth and finall step of sliced backhand is the follow through.
From contact I extend out
and as I follow through you will notice that my arm is rissing
and thats what you want. So a little counter and ... since you putting a slice on the ball,
you putting backspin on the tennis ball,
but the way your arm is build having swung down
it will naturally decelerate by rising up.
So if we switch perspectives and look at it from the side.
Again from contact I extend out and my arm is gonna rise
and I keep pretty much the same relationship between the rocket and my arm.
So if we go back to contact, what is gonna happen when I follow through my arm rises
is that my strings will end up pointing pretty much straight up.
The other thing I wanna highlight is that my body stayes sideways as I follow through
and one of the reasons for that is I leave my non hitting arm, my other arm back
that would hold my shoulders sideways
and finally from contact you can see I am looking at my contact point
and as I follow through, I continue to look at my contact point.
From his contact point Oliver extends out
and as he extend out, his arm begins to rise.
What you will also see if we go back to contact,
Right now his strings are facing the net, they are a little bit open
and his strings will end up pointing straight up in the air as he follows through
and you can see that right here,
when he is in his follow through, his strings have now change direction they facing up
Lets watch that from side view
and take a look at his other arm when he follows through,
he leaves it back and again that hold his shoulders sideways
and he continue to look at his contact point
and again that will help you stays sideways as you follow through.
