a otevření boků mu dovolí stočit ramena stranou.
The first step of two handed backhand is the pivot and the shoulder turn.
Coming out of the split step, I pivot it with my outside foot, transfer my weight to that foot, I get the heel of my inside foot up and at the same time I turn my shoulders sideways.
If we play it again what you notice is when I pivot it, that’s gonna open up my hips and that what lets me get my shoulders all the way sideways.
From the side view the other thing you see is that, when I pivot it and turn my shoulders the tennis rocket starts to come back, because my shoulders are coming sideways and thats key.
The rocket start coming back with the shoulder turn, but it’s also very important to make sure that you don’t use your arms during the step.
Lets watch it one more time. Coming out of the split step, shoulder turn does the work to start the rocket take back and not the arms.
Lets watch Franks pivot and turn of the shoulders, coming out of the split step he pivot it with the outside foot, transfers his weight to that foot, heel of his inside foot comes up and he turns his shoulders sideways.
And if we watch it again, that pivot open his hips up and that’s what leads him to get his shoulders all the way sideways.
Lets now click to the top view of Frank back in and what you gonna see is that when he pivot its and turns his shoulder, the rocket starts to come back, but you can clearly see in this shot.
That his hands are still in line with his head or in other words his hands are in line with his body.
So if we watch it one more time, the shoulder turn does the work to get the rocket back during the step and not his hands or his arms.
Now lets look at some pictures of Andy Roddick to illustrate the pivot and the shoulder turn.
In this first shot here Andy is just completing his split step and if we move to the next picture, now he has pivot it and turn his shoulders.
Let’s move in on his outside leg first and you can see that he transfer all the weight to this leg. If we go over to his inside leg he got the heel up and that footwork here has opened up his hips
and opening his hips up has allowed him to get his shoulders all the way Sideways.
If we pull the shot back you see that the tennis rocket has started to come back and again that’s because his shoulders has turn sideways and not because he use his arms to take the rocket back.
