The fourth part of the two handed backhand is the follow through.
From my contact point I extend out, in the direction that I am hitting the tennis ball, and at the same time I continue to rotate my upper body a little bit, until I am about facing the net.
Once I have got in to this point. I bring the rocket up around my shoulder by bending it the elbows and that’s the complementation of my two handed backhand motion.
From contact to follow through, Franks gonna extend out in the direction that he is hitting the tennis ball. As he extends out, he is continuing rotate his upper body a little bit.
Once he reaches this point, he brings the rocket up around his shoulder by bending it the elbows
and the key to this entire motion, the follow through if we go back to contact, is that the follow through needs to be nice, smooth, relax motion.
So you can decelerate yourself and the tennis rocket smoothly.
Let’s now take a look at some pictures of Radek Stepanek following through.
Behind me in this first shot, he just made contact with the tennis ball and he is extending out in the direction that he is hitting the ball. He got great extension, you can see that his left arm is pretty much straight.
and he is rotating his upper body back towards the net after his hit.
In this next picture here, again he is continuing to rotate. So now he is pretty much facing the net
and you can also see that he is raped the rocket up around his shoulder by bending at the elbows and this shot here is the complementation of his two handed backhand motion.
