The third and final progression of the WW forehand
is to move all the way back to the baseline
and try and hit using the entire motion
In the previous two videos the motion was abbreviated
you had the racket starting by pointing straight back at the fence
but now you need to pivot, turn your shoulders, do all that good stuff
and still swing up on the tennis ball and then follow through with the WW motion.
So let's see how that looks when I hit my whole WW forehand
if we play a couple of these in slow motion
you can see I'm swinging up across the tennis ball
and then the racket stays facing the other end of the court
the entire time it comes up and comes over.
You don't need to try and kill the ball
you wanna make sure you get them in
but then once you're consistent then you can try and hit little bit harder.
So, let's watch me hit some WW forehands from behind
and see what the shot looks like, the trajectory of the shot
because the WW forehand is a pretty versatile weapon
you can loop the ball back a lot, Nadal does that often,
or you can hit it a little bit harder.
So, this first forehand here, this first WW
I hit pretty high over the net, it's about 10 feet
and it's gonna land, I think this one has landed about a foot from the baseline.
No one's gonna be able to do anything with this forehand
It's a very solid rally ball
just work the point around until you get something you can go after
but then on this next WW here I hit it a little bit harder
not as high over the net, but I can still get decent net clearance
maybe a foot or so,
and I can hit this one again a lot harder but
still make sure that it stays in the court.
So, the WW like I said before, very versatile weapon
you can loop the ball, you can hit it a little bit flatter
but you can still feel comfortable with any of those shots
because you got that extra top spin that's gonna pull the ball into the court.
