The eighth and final progression of the serve
is act to try and hit a "real" serve
but you're gonna start slow. You're gonna work up to a serve from the baseline
and you can see behind me, I'm standing on the service line
that's what you wanna do and in the previous videos we emphasized the broken serve
well, now you're gonna use the actual down-together, up-together motion
and tack on the rest of the machanics we've talked about in the previous video
and see if you can actually serve for real
albeit a little bit softer that you might do from the baseline
So, if we watch me hit the ball here
arms drop down together, they rise together, I use the rest of mechanics
I emphasized in the previous videos
and I'm still trying to get the tennis ball bounce about 3 times
before I get to the baseline.
I'm not gonna move back to the baseline
until I can repeat this motion, let's watch it one more time
over and over and over and over, it should be automatic.
Now, once you've mastered that
then you can move back to the baseline
and try it from here, you can add more juice but you can still see
I'm kind of hitting moon balls a little bit, I'm just trying to get the ball in
and I'm still working the technique.
That's really really really important.
You may be asking yourself Well, I don't wanna serve like this, I wanna hit the ball
and that's fine. This motion we're teaching
you can definitely hit the ball hard, let's go to an actual serve
using the mechanics we've just talked about
I can hit a great serve using this somewhat simplified motion
again, what we've just taught encapsulates all the mechanics you're gonna need
and from here this foundation, then you can start building up
to a much higher level serve and turn your serve into a very very effective weapon.
