Titulek 1 One of the things your footwork needs to allow you to do is control your contact height Sometimes you won't be able to either move up or move back fast enough, you won't have enough time to get yourself set and in position to make contact in the same place every single time In those instances how much you either bend your knees or don't bend your knees how much you either get down or don't get down will help you control your contact height.
Behind me we've got two of my forehand split screens We've got a relatively high ball to my right and then behind me to my left we've got a low ball what you're gonna see is that I use my lower body to control my contact height but the mechanics of my swing with my upper body how I swing forward, rotate at my shoulders, get my arm out of the way stays the same and that's critical you don't want the upper body part changing you don't want to, especially for the low balls bend at the waist and reach down and over So, on these two forehands again, my footwork is a litte bit different On the low ball it looks like I'm sitting down in a chair but again, the key is that my upper body remains upright I'm not bending over If we freeze the two at contact my body positions look pretty similar Why don't we rewind it and watch the forward swings and again, the mechanics of the swing are the same even though on the low ball my footwork is different that it is on the higer ball
