In this video we're focusing only on my feet
What I'm gonna do is shadow typical footwork sequence.
So, I come up and I hit my split step to start my motion
and then I have my first step movement where I step out with my left foot in this case
and push off with my right
I run out and then when I get near the general vicinity where I'm gonna make contact
with the tennis ball I take those adjusting steps
get set in my stance, neutral stance in this case
then I hit, I bring my back foot, my left foot in this case
around so that my body is now facing the net
and then this first sequence here I'm gonna have a cross step
so I step across with my left foot, and then I get myself back into the side shuffle
and then I side shuffle back to the middle of the court
and then, I'll hit another split step
and I'll move back out, let's just assume my opponent hit it back to my forehand
so I move back out by stepping out first step movement
and then I run out to the tennis ball, take those adjusting steps again
hit with another neutral stance
and I bring my foot around after I've made contact
so I get myself square to the net again, and now I'm just gonna side shuffle back
so this second split work sequence is a little bit simpler
I get my body facing the net, and I just shuffle back to the middle of the court
and again, that's your typical footwork sequence
and that's what you wanna be doing
every single time you start to move out, hit and recover back to the middle of the court.
