2H Backhand Progressions Step 1 Contact

The first step of two handed backhand progresions is to establish your contact point and follow through.
So your contact point should be about waist high and out in front of your body a little bit.
Make sure that you got an acceptable two handed backhand grip.
and then from here you gonna follow through.
You need to follow through and freeze in this position out in front of your body.
And this is how it looks like.
But I got it straight and I stoped when is out in front of my body, because this insures that I have extend out and follow through correctly.
So you not gonna rap it over your shoulder, not yet at least.
you wanna swing from contact, extend out and you wanna freeze right there and again that make sure that you extend out properly in the motion.
So lets watch me shadow this couple times and here I am at my supposes contact point.
I am just going to follow through, extend out and then freeze like I have done right here We gonna watch that motion couple times, again pretty simple, not to much to it.
Except from contact extending out and then freezing not raping my rocket over my shoulder. Not yet.
Once you master this relatively simple shadowing, then you can hit some tennis balls and thats what I am doing here behind me.
I am starting a contact, gently pushing the ball over the net and then freezing in to my follow through, when my rocket and my arms are extended out a front of me.
Again not try to hit hard just working the technique.
And from the back perspective This will reinforce the fact that I am not hitting hard, I am just pushing the ball over the net and when you try this you should probably go across courth.
I am going down the line, just based on how we setup the camera, Its easier to see how the balls flying through the air when I go down the line So again try the cross courth, but starting the contact, just following through and freezing when my rocket and arm are in front of me.
and the reason that you wanna freeze here as supposed to try to bring the rocket over your shoulder, is that you when you first learning the two hander, a lot of players have the tendency to pull up and rap the rocket over the shoulder So they dont extend out as much they should so by hitting then extending out and freezing here, you insuring that you hitting through the ball and following through correctly.
